A Study on the Factors Affecting the Use of Housing Services for the People with Mental Disability
Song Seung-Yeon

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the use of housing services for the people with mental disability in community. To this end, this study analyzed the determinants of the use of housing services for the people with mental disability using the expanded Andersen Model, which added community dimensions(Contextual enabling factors) to the existing personal dimensions(Predisposing factors, Enabling factors, and Need factors). For the analysis, the data of 'Research on the Status of the People with Mental Disability in Community' in 2017 was used, which was commissioned by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. At the same time, the data of community level(level 2) were used for the analysis by extracting national level data, such as National Center for Mental Health. And, logistic hierarchial linear model analysis was conducted considering that the characteristics of dependent variables and the service users were influenced by the characteristics of community level. Accordingly, as a result of inputting personal level variables, in the predisposing factors, it was analyzed that the marital status had a statistically significant effect on the use of housing services. In the enabling factors, employment status, public assistance status, stigma, and in the need factors, housing service needs and family relationship had a statistically significant effects on the use of housing services for the people with mental disability. In the contextual enabling factors of the community level, it was analyzed that the number of mental hospital beds by region, the welfare budget for the disabled by region, and the ordinances related to the Mental Health Welfare Act by region had statistically significant effects on the use of housing services for the people with mental disability. Based on these results, theoretical, practical, and policy implications were derived to promote the use of housing services for the people with mental disability in community.
